Jade House

Privacy

Effective 1 October 2026, updated 31 October 2026. Jade House LLC, doing business as Jade House Agency, 87 Ardmore Rd, Kensington, CA 94707, United States. We decide how your information is used (in UK and EU terms, we are the "controller"). Write to us at hello@jadehouse.agency.

What we collect

Only what you give us, on our forms, through the Jade House app in ChatGPT, or in your Jade House account, plus the notes described below.

Please tell us only what a chef needs to know about how your household eats. If that includes a religious observance or a health matter such as an allergy, we use it only to find a suitable chef, and only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server, so no analytics company receives your data. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. It records the pages viewed, the referring site, the device type and an approximate location (country and city). It also counts which step of a form a visit reaches, how long it spends on each step, the name of any question the form asks it to complete, the name of the last question it reached if it leaves before sending, and whether it was a chef or a household form. It never receives anything you type into our forms.

If you reach us through a link we shared, such as one in an email or a post, your form submission keeps the campaign tag from that link, so we can tell which of our outreach brought you.

If you arrive from one of our Google ads, the address you land on carries Google’s click ID. We keep it in a cookie on this site for 90 days. When you start or send our household form, we tell Google Ads that it happened, using only that click ID and the time. No answers, names or emails are shared, and there is no Google tag or pixel on our pages.

If you reach us through ChatGPT

If you ask ChatGPT to find a chef or to apply as one, the Jade House app sends us the answers you give it, and nothing else from your conversation. We use them exactly as we use a form: to match you, now or as your market opens. What you type into ChatGPT is also governed by OpenAI's own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Why, and on what basis

To consider you for an introduction, to reply to you, and to run the introductions we make. We also read messages and our own notes for two further purposes: to suggest matches that suit both sides better, and to find the questions and steps that give people trouble so that we can improve the service. When we look for patterns across many people, we remove names first. We use your details for nothing else.

If we don't yet place where you are, we ask the same questions anyway, so that we can suggest a match the day we open in your market rather than start from nothing. Until then your details are used for that and for no other purpose, and we'll tell you when your market opens. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

If you are in the UK or the EU, the law asks us to name our basis for this: we use your details because you asked us to (steps taken at your request before any agreement), and for our legitimate interest in making introductions that suit both sides. For religious or health details, the basis is your explicit consent.

How decisions are made

Software helps us sort which chefs might suit which homes. A person reviews every introduction, and no decision about you is made by software alone. Our notes help a person decide whom to introduce. Software may use them to order a shortlist, but it never removes anyone from consideration, and nothing scores you automatically from what you write.

Who sees it

Jade House alone. We never share a household's details with a chef, or a chef's details with a household, until both have agreed to an introduction. We do not sell personal information. The only thing we share for advertising is the ad click described above.

Six service providers handle it for us, only to run this site: Hostinger, which hosts our server in the United States; Google, which runs our email (including a short alert to us when a form arrives, with your first name and last initial, whether you are a household or a chef, and a summary of your answers such as area, role, timing, pay band, preferences and how you found us, but never your references, your phone number or anything you wrote in your own words), and whose Gemini service we use to make your portrait from your headshot; Resend, which sends our email; Twilio, which carries our text messages; Checkr, which runs a background check on a chef only after a family makes a conditional offer, and only with the consent the chef gives Checkr directly (the family is told whether the chef is cleared to our standard, and receives the full report on request only with the chef’s written consent); and Cloudflare, which runs our domain. Google also hosts the video calls we arrange on Google Meet. None of them may use it for anything else. A message you send through Jade House goes only to the person you wrote to.

Where it is held

Jade House is in the United States, and your details are held there. If you write to us from the UK, the EU or elsewhere, your details are held in the United States, where privacy law differs from yours. We protect them to the standard in this notice wherever you are.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, our program Jade House Call Recaps sends you a short written recap after a call with us, from +1 (213) 732-3976. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number, or your consent to receive texts, with anyone for marketing. The full terms are at jadehouse.agency/sms-terms.

References

If you name a reference, please tell them first. We contact a reference only with your consent, and only when we are presenting you to a household for a specific role.

How long we keep it

If you applied to us as a chef, or a household asked us to find one, California law requires us to keep the application and the record of any introduction we made for four years from the date each was created. During that time it is set aside: no one uses it for matching or outreach, and only we can see it. Everything else (your login, preferences and availability) is deleted when you ask, or 24 months after our last contact with you, whichever comes first.

We also keep anonymous totals, such as how many people reach each step, which can’t identify you.

Your rights

Write to hello@jadehouse.agency to see, correct or delete what we hold about you (except the records the law requires us to keep, described above). You can ask to see any notes we have written about you, and we will correct or delete a note you dispute. You can also ask us to stop using it, to limit how we use it, or to send it to you in a portable form, and you can withdraw any consent. We reply within 30 days.

If you are in the UK, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you are in the EU, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would welcome the chance to put things right first.

Do Not Track

Our analytics sets no cookies and does not follow you across sites. Our pages set a cookie only when you arrive from one of our ads, to hold Google’s click ID. We also honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, our analytics does not load at all and Google Ads is told nothing.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. Telling Google Ads that a visit from one of our ads started or sent a form may count as sharing under California law. The "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the foot of every page, or a Global Privacy Control signal, switches that off for your browser, along with our analytics. Form answers are never shared.

Changes

When this notice changes, we update the date above. If a change affects details we already hold, we will tell you.
